Featured Pets

Pink Floyd is around 4 months old and will top 100 pounds when grown. He has a large PINK spot on his nose; hence the name PINK FLOYD.  This handsome guy is a Blue Merle Great Dane mix who must be an inside dog. Great Danes are family, house dogs that cannot be left outside in Arkansas summer heat & winter cold. The Great Dane wants nothing but to hang out with its family and is a lovable breed.

This smart little guy loved our shelter dog park. He sniffed and marked all his favorite spots. Crackers is very alert, wants to be involved in all the play, loves treats, and will do well in a home with older children who understand how to behave with a dog. We think Crackers weighs around 25-30 pounds and is 1-2 years old.

What a lovely sweetheart is Queen Anne! She was a bit shy at first, but she really blossomed when she was treated to a brushing of her beautiful coat. Truly, she needs grooming, but the beauty shines through. Cream and sable, with black blaze and ears. Although labeled Longhair Dachshund mix, after her photo session, we think she might be a Cardigan Welsh Corgi/Australian Cattle Dog mix. Whatever she is, she's gorgeous. Queen Anne is around 2-3 years old, and perhaps 20 pounds.

Partners Auxiliary Working for The Sherwood Shelter (P.A.W.S.) is the volunteer arm of the Department of Humane Animal Services for the city of Sherwood, Arkansas.  We encourage the participation of volunteers who support our mission:

To aid the shelter animals by improving the quality of their lives while at the shelter and by helping them to be adopted, to help the staff so they can do their jobs more efficiently, to raise funds to expand the services our shelter can offer to our community, to promote the sterilization of all pets, and to assist the shelter staff in educating our community on all issues concerning the humane treatment of animals.
