Partners Auxiliary Working for The Sherwood Shelter (P.A.W.S.) is the volunteer arm of the Department of Humane Animal Services for the city of Sherwood, Arkansas. We encourage the participation of volunteers who support our mission: To aid the shelter animals by improving the quality of their lives while at the shelter and by helping them to be adopted, to help the staff so they can do their jobs more efficiently, to raise funds to expand the services our shelter can offer to our community, to promote the sterilization of all pets, and to assist the shelter staff in educating our community on all issues concerning the humane treatment of animals.

Simon, I.D. 10-C4, is a male, grey Tabby. He is a very vocal kitten, purring constantly. This little guy is about 3 months old and available for adoption NOW. Simon is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered. |

Meet Mattie, I.D. 10D-42. She's a very friendly brown and white girl who loves to get a rub or a cuddle. The day we did photos, the yard was iced over, so pics were done inside. We didn't get to run and play in the yard. Instead, we had 30 minutes or so, up close and sharing hugs and kisses. We estimate her weight to be 45-50 pounds and her age 2-3 years. Eldridge, I.D. 9C-367, is a handsome young man. He is soft, cuddly and lovable with people; however, he doesn’t get along well with other cats. Therefore, Eldridge needs to be the only kitty warming his person’s lap. Eldridge is about 3 years old and available for adoption NOW!!! |

Duchess, I.D. 9D-995, is a sweet girl, who needs a family. She enjoys her outings in the shelter dog park, and she is quite friendly. When Duchess first came to the shelter, she was very frightened, but thanks to a special volunteer who has spent hours brushing her, petting her, and giving her the love she deserves, Duchess is gaining confidence. This beautiful Lab mix is 7 years old and weighs around 50 pounds. Come and meet Duchess; she is available for adoption NOW. |

Mark Your Calendars Saturday, May 1 Sherwood’s 2nd Annual Pet Fair & Fun Raiser |

The Sherwood Shelter’s staff has been hard at work since January planning this year’s Pet Fair & Fun Raiser. Robin Breaux says that almost all the exhibitors and vendors who came to the fair last year will be there again with many new additions. Two major fund raisers are in the works: an elementary school poster contest and a silent auction. Funds raised will benefit the Frannie Medical Fund and the HSUS KIND News program.
P.A.W.S. is asking that each member donate one item to the silent auction. Please bring your donations by the shelter before April 15. Volunteers will be needed the last week in April to organize the donations, fill out auction sheets, and prepare gift baskets of smaller items. In addition, volunteers will be needed during the day of the fair to set up the auction, monitor the tables, and to receive payments for auctioned items.
The Pet Fair is held at the Sherwood Municipal Complex on East Kiehl Ave. from 9:30 a.m. — 3:30 p.m.
